The Armenian language, known as Հայերեն (Hayeren), is an ancient and unique Indo-European language spoken primarily in Armenia and by the Armenian diaspora worldwide. It has its own distinct alphabet, created in the 5th century by Mesrop Mashtots, which has played a crucial role in preserving Armenian culture, literature, and national identity. Armenian has two primary dialects: Eastern Armenian, spoken mainly in Armenia and Iran, and Western Armenian, used by diaspora communities, particularly in the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. Rich in history, Armenian has absorbed influences from Persian, Turkish, Russian, and other languages, yet it maintains a strong core of native vocabulary and grammar. Today, it continues to thrive as a symbol of Armenian heritage and a bridge connecting Armenians across the globe.
